DTLN

I have no position, and know nothing about the fundamentals of this co. except what I have recently read on this board. I do use their product from time to time.
My inlaws are farmers and have DTN's system. They really like the service. You can get live radar, news and commodities prices for about $60 per month, I think. I also see their system at small airports where they've added some aviation stuff to their basic package. It is a far cry from the old days when you had to call the weather service on the phone to ask them where the storms were, now you can see them on the screen.
Their competitor for the airport business is WSI, which offers a system that is much better, offering more aviation information in a better and easier to use format, although it is more expensive. (WSI does not, however, provide hog prices) Our airport put in both systems for a month and asked the pilots to vote for the system they wanted. There wasn't a single vote for the DTN system.
Of course, all this information is available over the internet, It just takes longer to get it.
Now you know all I do. Hope the information is useful.

regards,

bb
