Taking a second look at your chart, I see how good it really is--a moving average that does show a longer-term upswing that helps to account (I would say) for the equity bubble.

Still, early this year the 13-week figures for M3 were up around 11% almost, and since then they have contracted noticeably, suggesting some sort of credit restriction.

Another aspect of the scene that is too reminiscent of 1929.
