Mighty, is your last name Volpe, Brown, or Whelan? :) From Briefing.com 12:09 ET Ascend Communications (ASND) 43 -2 1/2 (-5.5%): Volpe Brown Whelan bullish on prospects of Lucent acquisition. Calls Oct. 1 the first day of rest of Lucent's new corporate life, as company now able to make pooling-of-interest acquisitions. Believes that ASND could go for as much $75 a share in a buyout, a 74% premium to the stock's current price.
