Integrates Standards-Based Encryption Technology Into Virtual Private Networking Solution

BALTIMORE, Md., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Information Resource Engineering (IRE) Inc. IREG , a leading provider of Virtual Private Network (VPN) software for secure business communications, announced today that Lucent Technologies has licensed IRE's SafeNet/Soft-PK(TM) software.
Under the OEM agreement, Lucent will integrate IRE's SafeNet/Soft-PK into its network security solutions as the Lucent IPSec Client. The Lucent IPSec Client is an integral piece of the new Lucent VPN Gateway solution. The integration of IRE's interoperable, peer-to-peer public key software will enable Lucent to offer secure VPN solutions to large enterprises and service providers worldwide.
