Good Morning / Afternoon {{{{{Everyone}}}}}!
Its interesting to me that we would be talking investment strategies this morning. I guess it was the final prompt for me to make this post.
Over the course of the past week, several people have asked me if I continue to hold, if I have all my shares, etc. I have always answered truthfully.
I also have to admit that it has rankled a bit to answer such questions, as I view it as very personal information. Changes of position may not only reflect the current situation with the company, but also personal decisions regarding risk management and financial matters not directly related to the company. But, I have answered because I KNOW there is no bad intent in such questioning... rather, I feel most people that have asked me are looking for reassurance.
Well, I have adjusted my DGIV position recently and I have also received a couple of even more recent inquiries as to what I was doing in this regard. Rather than being accused of presenting myself one way on the board and another way privately, I thought I should address the issue directly and publicly. It also appeases my sense of "what's right" to do so publicly, especially given that I am a rather active participant on this board.
Earlier this week, I sold 15% of my peak holdings and may go to 25%; I am as of yet undecided. The remaining 75% represents what I consider my long term hold position... though that may change as events continue to unfold.
BTW... I am what I would consider a small shareholder... I am quite sure that my transaction had no real impact on price. I do not have the personal ability to drive share price one way or the other. LOL... nobody should confuse activity on the board with the amount invested. :-)
As for my reasons for adjusting my position: I have over the course of the last few months taken a very high risk position in my personal portfolio in a very high risk stock. Revelations over the past 2 weeks have caused me to evaluate the risk in the company as even higher than I had anticipated. The action I took was an attempt to manage that risk for the financial health of both me and my family.
I still strongly believe in Jimmy Chin's vision / model of partnering with foreign telco's to make a very successful business. If this happens to any great extent, I believe that Digitcom will make a tremendous amount of money. What I am currently concerned about is Digitcom's ability to successfully navigate the road to realize the vision... things that are not directly connected with the vision.
DGIV still comprises a substantial portion of my portfolio. I expect it will continue to do so. However, I will continue to research this company and will continue to increase or decrease my position in accordance with any substantial findings. As always, I will continue to share that information (and my analysis) with all of you.
Lazarus, wondering if sis is still proud of me... |
