Terri,

I don't ever look at someone trying to learn something by asking a question as stupid! Boxed means I hold an equal amount of "long" shares to offset the short shares. Now in this position I cannot make any money! The increase in the value of the long position is offset by the decrease in the shorts value. I hope to be able to "unbox" at a relatively high price producing gains on the long, at a time when the stock is ready to tumble! At that point, increasing my short position and ride it down. Does this make it a little clearer than mud?
