Sellside bad, buy side good... William, I am sure there are very good analysts in sell side firms. But their research is notoriously shallow relative to much better (and inaccessible) research at the buy side firms. But sell side firms have to sell their stuff retail, so they are much more likely to be optimstic and prone to appeal to people's naivete. DocStone
