COOL Revenue Increases 270% in Second Quarter Fiscal 1999 47% Growth Over Previous Quarter

KENT, Conn., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Cyberian Outpost (Nasdaq: COOL - news) today reported revenue of $17.0 million for the second
quarter ended August 31, 1998, an increase of approximately 270% versus $4.6 million reported in the same period last year and a 47%
sequential growth over the fiscal first quarter 1999. Gross margin for the second quarter of fiscal 1999 was 9.9%, a 10% improvement over
the fiscal first quarter of 1999. Net loss for the second quarter was $5.6 million, or a pro forma basic and diluted net loss of $0.29 per share,
compared with a second quarter fiscal 1998 net loss of $838,000, or a pro forma basic and diluted net loss per share of $0.10.

Revenue for the six months ended August 31, 1998 was $28.6 million, up 236% from $8.5 million reported in the same period last year.
Net loss for the six-month period was $9.8 million, a pro forma basic and diluted net loss per share of $0.54, compared with a net loss of
$1.6 million, or a pro forma basic and diluted net loss per share of $0.21 for the first half of fiscal 1998.
