Sudan, this possibility is not open to the USA in Russia.


I would go further than that, and suggest that the U.S. should not act like a "lone cowboy" anywhere. We would protest if any other country (with the possible exception of Israel) were to act in such a fashion. Another example of the double standard: one for us, another for everybody else..

(I guess I did not make myself clear. I was not suggesting that we should have bombed Russia to signal our displeasure with the treatment of the Chechens. There were other, more civilized ways of doing that -- if indeed, we DID feel displeasure, rather than indifference.)
