No, your post was not misleading. I understand they are drilling UP, but I wondered why they are not drilling DOWN. It seems to me it would be far easier, even if they had to go further. But I am sure they have their reasons.

The tunnel is to deep to drill from the top. The shorter the distance for the drill to travel the easier the task. The ore IKAR wishes to drill and collect samples for analyzing lyes just above the tunnel. Remember the drill is going through rock and any fracture they encounter will cause the drill most likely to be withdrawn so the shorter the distance the drill travels the less chance of hitting a fracture. From my understanding the depth the drill would have to travel from the top to reach the ore right above the tunnel would be costly as well as to far to travel from my understanding..... (this particular tunnel is very deep)

Their work on the Tungsten discovery, known as the Ikar deposit, included:
· Seven kilometers (4.35 miles) of tunneling, drifting and crosscuts;
· 9,455.3 metres of underground drilling and 4,780 metres of surface drilling;
· 7,336.5 cubic metres of trenching at the Huff site and 7,865 cubic metres of trenching in the Badzhu area including 1,239 cubic metres of trenching conducted by Ikar Mineral Corporation crews in 1997.
