NEW NEWS!! Nice fresh unregurgitated news!
It looks pretty good to me, although I don't understand the
"template" thing at the end. Not exactly a very stressful test
though: 75lbs. for 1000mi at *5 MPH* (that's over a week to
run the test!) how about a more realistic measure? say
200lbs. for 5000mi at 30MPH? At least the sign that life still
exists in Ravenna is a very welcome relief. Hopefully we'll
see this data go to work to help market the tires and get some
nice lucrative sales contracts.

American Tire Corporation
Announces 1,000 Mile Test Results on FLAT FREE
Bicycle Tires

RAVENNA, Ohio, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- American Tire Corporation [OTC BB:ATYR
- news] has been conducting in-house and independent bicycle tire testing to
validate and expand earlier reported results. A 1,000 mile test at an independent test
lab has just been completed. The American tire / Urathon non-pneumatic
multi-density 26 x 1.75 street tread bicycle tire manufactured by the American Tire
Corporation had only 19% centerline tread wear as compared to 59% by the same
size pneumatic type competitor. This shows the American Tire Corporation
multi-density product to be over 300% superior in tread wear to the standard
pneumatic competitor. Additionally, the American tire showed no heat build up while
the tread surface of the competitor was tacky and somewhat broken up showing heat
distress. The American tire also showed good durability in completing the 1,000
miles at 75 pound load and 5 mph without developing any stress cracks. These
results added to additional in-house results on rolling resistance (using a tow bar
load cell system) showed the non-pnuematic multi-density tire made by ATC could
have from 80% to 105% of the pneumatic tire rolling resistance depending on the
compliance rating being tested and equal wet/dry traction. This indicates the
multi-density ATC bicycle tire is substantially equal or better than the competitors
pneumatic product in overall performance capability and provides the added value
by being Flat Free, maintenance free and easy to mount.

ATC has also developed a sample template to allow the consumer to overcome the
lack of standards in wheel sizes. The templates (patent pending) will be available free
to retailers and consumers with their tire purchases.
