To advertise is one thing. To make wild claims and prey upon the emotions of unsophisticated investors is yet another, especially in the guise of a fellow investor. Unfortunately the majority of the people investing in penny stocks are not sophisticated, and even worse are not really able to afford the loss. To victimize them is the work of sociopaths.
Sophisticated investors that invest in penny stocks get what they deserve, up or down, they know the risks. Even worse, the hired guns as you put it are often front running the stock which is also illegal.
I cannot condone the actions of those types. Advertise, okay, hype with deliberate intent to defraud and front run, no.
