Do you ever see the golden-yellow larch on fall hiking trips? My very favorite hiking trip was when we hiked into Banff's Larch Valley where we pitched our tent for night. Sure was cold. We couldn't build a fire. So there were only half dozen tents. The sky was clear and the moon was full! Spectacular!! I wouldn't crawl out of my down-sleeping bag next morning until housemate made me coffee. Creek was frozen but he chipped away at ice til' he got some water to make coffee!!!
