HB, I am negative on bonds. However, to put that in perspective, I've been negative since 5 3/4%, so my genius may be wearing thin on this round. <G>

I just don't see how you can print that much money and have it become worth more. That trend simply cannot last, and if the dollar declines, good bye Treasuries.

Of course, the hedge funds will then be long Treasuries and short the brain dead mortgages.

In all honesty, I don't think 8.5% is all that great a return. Vanguard's LT Treasury Bond Fund is up 12.5% and it is pretty generic. Your fund must have had at least some junks in it.
