Sorry to deflate your idle historical speculations. But Mongolian oral tradition (from several totally independent sources) clearly implies that Genghis Khan in fact despised mince. The story is told around the yurt fires that his cook once served him a mince pie. It put him in such a bad humor that he impaled the entire population of Samarkhand before he felt better.

Perhaps this is why, today, you can search the length and breadth of Ulan Batur without finding a single restaurant that will serve you a mince pie.
