WOODS: Committee chairman Jim Leach was skeptical the Fed orchestrated bail out was needed. That's because there was already an offer to buy some of the fund's investments, reportedly made by billionaire Warren Buffett. It came just as the bankers and brokers considering taking over the fund, were gathered at the New York Fed. MCDONOUGH: Long Term Capital Management clearly understood that there is a possibility of another offer in the making. And they, in effect, played a bit of a game and appeared to have won that game. WOODS: Many members worry the Fed sent the wrong message with its bail out of wealthy investors....>>>>>>>>> Doesn't sound kosher to me. They had an offer from WARREN BUFFETT fergawwwwwwwwwd's sake!!! Why didn't they accept? Playing games with (in effect) our money? I don't like it one bit. I will say this again: no ONE HAS EVER OFFERED TO BAIL ME OUT OR HELP IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. I hope to GOD I'm never in that position but if I were my lifestyle and standard of living would go down the toilet and that wouldn't be no 14kt gold toilet either.....yes, they do exist btw.
