What gives on our side of the pond....

I've said it before. From a mainframe point of view the work is done and has been for years. That is why you only saw a few (albeit high-profile) accounts won by Chase for Alydaar.

The big news in Europe is the desktop. The PC market is going mad as everyone assumed all you had to do was make sure the date was OK on your computer.

Just think about this - After the boom-bust of the 1980's the stock market got into derivitave trading. Sole traders (let us not forget Nick Leeson) have built up strong positions. Some of these guys spreadsheets are 2 to 3 Mbytes in size. How many date based issues are we talking???

The field for correction of spreadsheets and databases is huge and will run for at least the next three years!!

JMHO
