Byron: <OT>
> ... how fragile lives were after hearing about rebels in Algeria slaughtering civilians. Well, there are the same ethnic cleasing going on in Kosovo now, although our government only condemn the Serbs but fail to condomn the Kosovo Liberation Army, which basically did the same horrible thing to the Serbians living in Kosovo. Comparing to those victims, losing some money in the market seems so meaningless. Even if I go broke tomorrow, my life is still thousands times better than those victims in Kosovo. And we care more about what the president did to Monica Lewinsky than those children slaughtered, mutilated in Kosovo. That's just unbelievable.
Glad to see I am not the only one who feels this way. Pick a date and time (any time on any day) and turn on your TV or radio, and all you see and hear are how Republicans, and Democrats try to get even over idiotic scandals (such as the one reported by Kenn Starr, and his gestapo over Clinton's genital parts.
Just thinking that while Kenn Starr and his gestapo have been spending so much of our money on finding out about Clinton's genital behavior, and then media trying to make a buck from the sensation that it has generated, civilians continue to be slaughtered in Algeria (without anyone even mentioning it), and the mass killings continue in Kosovo, makes me wonder if my paper financial losses of past few months over LSI can justify my sadness?
Yes, Byron, we are living in a strange time.
