M, this is not a "hard" statistics. But, I read recently that there were under 1 million of new IRAs opened this year. Multiply by $2k.
If you want me to try to find where I read this, let me know, but as you so correctly posted, the total money contributed yearly to all IRA is relatively small, and obviously the difference that new money invested because of Roths is a small fraction of that.
