Badshah,

Robert G. Bianchi reported that he bought a 2.8V Cyrix P200+. It's a great surprise for me as it was the first time that I heard anything about 2.8V 6x86. However, I am not sure if his P200+ is a 0.35um version or not? I wonder if someone could answer the question for us.

Cyrix announced that they would come up a lower power 6x86 for notebook many months ago. 0.35um 6x86 at 2.8V could make it qualified to be used in notebook. Cyrix has extreme high technology :-) and should be pleased to design/manufacture any chips that they announced.

As to GX for notebook, GX has been originally designed for notebook to conserve space and power. NC is the home that Cyrix hasn't thought of when designing this genius chip. Therefore, they still don't know how to figure out the best way to turn it into a "Diamond mine" :-) When GX becomes available, you would see lots of affordable GX based notebooks. By this cost saving nature, GX should boost notebook volume considerably. Also, keep in mind that Cyrix is well blessed and supported by PC industry, except Intel of course.

Fuchi ... who loves Cyrix's innovations
