I know my word doesn't carry far, but I *did* phone NEC in Tokyo and was told Amati and one other were given the HKT contract. Amati confirmed it. I agree we need press from either NEC or Amati. I just hope it comes when the market is in a good mood.

I'm not sure Amati will "shy away" from the consumer market as much as the market simply won't be there because the telco has to be involved with a modem at the other end.
