Is there something magical about December 31st insofar as offsetting losses? Let's say you sold a stock today at a loss, could you use that to offset capital gains for this year and buy the stock back on the 1st or do you still have to wait 30 days? Thx P.S. No PR News or TechWire report on CA? Just on CNN!
