Doc - you are a genius - you've finally figured me out!!!! Here's a chance for you to make some money, have some fun, and expose me as one of those short-sellers who are conspiring to hide the truth from the world. I'd like to propose a wager. Here's the bet: I'll pay you $10 for the difference between 30,600 and the actual size of my short position in Zitel on 12/24/96. You pay me $2 for the difference between 0 and the actual size of my short position in Zitel on 12/24/96. Think about it, if I'm not short at all, you stand to make over $300,000!! I bet that will make your account look much healthier than the 100 shares of Zitel you've been trading back and forth for the past month, and it'll go a long way to cover the rest of your trading losses. I'm quite serious about this. Feel free to email me and we can work out the details. Of course, I also bet another guy 100K that the apocalyptic claims he was making about the consequences of the Y2K "problem" (plane crashes, wars erupting, massive business failures) wouldn't happen. Haven't heard back from him.
