George I sometimes fail to choose the correct words to express myself. Semantics plays a large role in religious discussions. Most think of God as the creator. But each individual has a different concept unique to himself. Since we live in a country with dominant protestant belief, the word God is conceived by most to have the qualities of their teachings. They conceive of God as a person. They have a concept of humans created in sin and one life, heaven and hell situation, which I know in myself to be ridiculous. They conceive of sacrificing this life in order to have a better one in heaven based on odds more ridiculous than a powerball lottery ticket. They are taught to fear which to me is very negative and will tend to create situations of fear. I prefer to be daring and learn the hard way. Then I know. The pie in the sky in the sweet bye and bye hs no appeal to me.

As to Rick's attitude (poor choice of words here) I meant to say he has a respect for nature and natural law. A lot of his thoughts are harmonius with mine.

Sorry if you were offended. I am on many forums and as a contrarian I receive a lot of private mail as well as public. I had very little formal education (3 years high school) but am 74 and learned much in the school of life. I do not claim to be psychic but I can see the harm done by theology. I think churches and religion are similar to politics. Both would be beneficial if they could stick to truth and natural law. As it is both cause great inequities because of greed and corruption. Both provide some benefits which are widely announced while the damage is done quietly.

Since ignorance is the major sin IMHO I am trying in my meager way to encourage others to neither believe or disbelieve anything Political or religious) until they have researched their utmost to find truth. In my 74 years I have learned the best way to find truth is not ask for it but to search.
