You are absolutely correct ..... the accumulation of wealth to some is more a perverse game than anything else .... rather than the money being used to free them from the day-to-day drudgery of life, it become their way of life. I'll bet that most can hardly sleep for fear they may lose their booty .... to me that's a jail sentence, not "freedom 55" <G> The redistribution of wealth is key for an economy to grow .... the problem is - as soon as the wealth is redistributed, would inflation picks up. In the present deflationary climate, that may not be a bad thing.

One has to remember too ... these elite of the elite still have a lot of the world to buy. They hold the power and will maintain it no matter what. One has to wonder if the IMF policies of the last few years were designed to facilitate fire sales in some of these countries where currencies collapsed, rather than restabilizing their ruined economies. I can get very cynical .... but I still see too much of the world in poverty .... and more of _our world heading there despite what the numbers say.
