The reason I asked the question of whether or not lu sells ascend equipment emanates from a conversation I had with a senior lu sales rep. The sales rep indicated that ascend was snatching up all the large and consequently lucrative deals in his space. He thought that a lu/asnd deal made a lot of sense particularly from his own personal sales territory perspective. A huge installed base to use as a springboard from which to sell off of---in one of the fastest growing segments of the comms market. Isn't this what a company trying to "break" into a market needs most? IT'S THE INSTALLED BASE STUPID! The thing that I question is that once you eliminate the technology as the most important consideration & make the installed base the main value proposition, is asnd the best possible strategic choice for buying a global base??? Comments anyone?
