Re Bill Hawe: We have been beating this subject to death on this thread and Yahoo NT thread. Please read previous posts before resurrecting this issue anymore. Once again, Bill Hawe(yes, he once worked at Digital) was a VP/CTO at Bay. Brought in by House about 2 yrs ago to work on network artchitecture issues, if memory serves me.
As the news article states, he currently holds no share position in NT. That means, technically, he is NOT short the stock. He used an accepted strategy of exercising options and then either selling puts against them or shorting an equal number of shares(less the 50k he sold outright) to lock in his gains. However, since he is not short any net shares, in my view he is not betting against the company. He does not profit from his investment if NT stock price falls; he merely avoids the devastating losses the rest of us have incurred.
Now, let's let the poor guy alone. Maybe a future report(which always lags the actual event) will show him covering his position and going long again. In the meantime, tune into CNBC on Monday morning between 7-9am CDT to see Roth try to explain, once again, what is going on at NT. I think it may impact the stock volume and action that day; just wish I knew in what direction. Frankly, I expect to tread water until the actual earnings report and conf. call later this month.
Watch for the results of the elections in Brazil tomorrow to have impact on the overall market Monday.
