jwk --- In response to your "buuuutttt",,, IMO it is nice to have contacts in many places,,,, BUUUUTTTT believing Y2K assistance will automatically bring in future orders from the goodness of a companies heart is ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT! Contacts yes! Future orders will come but they will only be based on competitive bidding for same quality service/product received in the past from other sources. Even then most purchasing officers are not going to throw away previous contacts for known produts/services unless the price is lower, service better, etc. The contacts will be there but the CONTRACTS will have to be earned against stiff competition. T has little competition in Y2K but tons in other areas. If you have been dealing with a local car dealership for 10 years and get great service from a distant dealership while away from home on an emergency repair, are you going to forget about the "old" contacts at the "old" dealership when looking to replace your car? Hell NO! You MAY, JUST MAY, give them a shot at your next purchase but the relationship built over years will not go away because of a one shot assist from a "new" contact. You know what you are going to receive from the old contact and the new one will have to make it real enticing in order for you to switch. T is in dreamland if they believe all these contacts are going to come running to them. Like Bill to Monica on Easter Sunday --- there has to be something better or why switch,,, and the unknown may have consequences to deal with later.. |
