I know you are getting a lot of pressure on this, but I appreciate your call to arms about commission rates. I don't know about JPR, nor have I yet experienced MB. I've been hesistant to move from Fidelity Spartan in part because of the considerable disparity in rates.

Perhaps the day trading firms don't want a deluge of customers or perhaps their cost structure is so high that low rates just don't work. Even so, I would guess that somewhere down the road, rates for more than one true day trading firm (i.e., with ECN access and with the full panoply of RealTickIII features, for which one will have to pay) will indeed drop to the $10 level.
