thanks, all, for the various comments. the notion that an $8,000 product wouldn't be heavily dependent on christmas sales makes sense, though i still think the college bowl games and super bowl would be an obvious boost to marketing.
that price, incidentally, explains my continued interest in the original proposal for the small, portable projection tv, which the company said would be offered for under $1,000. at that price, i'd be a customer as well as investor.
