Christine, any retirement system will have problems if you stretch the contingency envelope to the limit. Realistically however, the 401K system has been a tremendous success for both the employee and the corporation. What about all the people who only work 6 or 8 years, or who get booted out at 18 years for fraternization in the workplace, being overfat, having a medical condition, family reasons like single parenthoood, and a myriad of other reasons? Christine, this subject I know extremely well. Trust me on this one, the system in place now is seriously flawed, and it's inevitable that it will dramatically change in the future. Michael
