I really disagree with your statement, Rick. First, atheists by definition are people who have gone against the common belief systems in their societies. Almost everyone everywhere in the world believes in some sort of religious magic. So atheists are by nature independent, divergent thinkers. I am not saying that all atheists are wonderful people. But because of their own experience I would bet that they lean strongly towards tolerance of other ideologies, in general.

However, they are not hypocrites of the same order that religious people are who spout beliefs about love and peace and practice the opposite in their daily lives. As I've said before, I think Jesus would throw up if he came back and saw what Christians were doing in his name.
