Leo:

Thank you - always good to see that - those guys are effusive in
their praise aren't they? - a good thing.

The million $ question is how to translate these (many many - 12 or 13 now - FAR ahead of anyone else) wins into profits. I wish I knew!

On miscellaneous Zoom related mayhem:

(1) CRUS is pulling out of the chipset business. I don't know what
%ge of chips are Cirrus' but heck any reduction in chip supply is
always welcome as these kinds of situations lead to higher or
at least stable modem prices.

(2) Video cams are indeed taking off - have you or anyone seen
any recent reviews? I think with 56k bandwidth becoming commonplace
this is sufficient bandwidth to make video cams popular. So this
may be a new revenue stream. Since ZOOM was early hopefully there
are some profits to be made in this segment before everyone and their
mother starts getting into it.

(3) ZOOM has 2 products that are related to video that are making it - one is the capture card and the other is the video camera itself. They
sell one of the most inexpensive models - now only if these amount
to something more than peanuts in the next few quarters I'll be
happy (I am hoping for 3-5 million in sales next year from the
video camera - hopefully I am very low - assuming 60-80,000 units will
sell. The nice thing about it is that no OEMs are including a video camera as std. fare in their PCs and that means it is a good product to be selling. Just pulled the 60-80,000 out of the hat. Modems
for ZOOM are likely around 800,000 to 1,000,000 units a year. So though 60,000 video cams right now look high relative to this number
maybe starting in 1999 or say conservatively by mid-1999, the 60,000 per year will look reasonable or hopeful.)

(4) Hopefully they have won some OEM business back now that they
are using the LU chip.

(5) I say they announce cable/DSL modems late this year or early next.

Shane.
