Dear Webmistress Jill,
How are you??
...i'm fine too, thanks.
Do you remember "jack w garnes jr."?? ...Well, i'm sure you must.. he's quite unforgettable! ...And, yes, i'm sure you must take people to task when they upset others on SI. After all, ..it's part of your job.
and i feel very comfortable with the good way you are taking care of SI. It wouldn't be the same here without you because "your quite unique". ...in fact, you're the only Webmistress i know.
(somehow the thought of a "webmaster" just doesn't do anything for me.)
Of all the people you are forced to "put in the box", i'm sure, without question, most are truly offering less than nothing, and you have no choice. It must be best that way. With that i can have no argument.
But as sure as we feel "fine" about ourselves, i'm sure that jack is fine too.
it's been a month now. and i would feel loss if he can't post tomorrow. ..please don't tell me he's off for good, because it's not true.
In most cases where one in five hundred might complain, many would agree with the complainer; and a few wouldn't really care either way; saying, "what's the difference??" -a valid reason for removing an individual.
But jack "is" different. He is a caring and compassionate person, aware that time slips by until it is too late. This is one of the single most valuable thoughts a person can have, and no person can have it too soon! So to me, he is a messenger.
Though many would disagree or simply fail to see it, this is the message i get when reading many of his posts, especially the more heated ones where he pays the price for shocking the readers into some form of understanding. "And he offers us this message at his own expense, as we well know."
And he would have us look at ourselves, -for once finally responding to what we see and to use that response to increase the quality of our postings here on SI.
IMO: The etiquette fits the urgency. He gives people many chances to stand back and internalize things. In doing so, they re-evaluate through his examples; so they can think from new or different prospectives and viewpoints that they are otherwise motivated to deny (because these particular truths can tend to hurt!) But the REAL truth being: "It harms investors more not to look at them!"
So, I look at jack w garnes jr. as "an awareness person"; offering his awareness to others for a good reason. -Awareness can be "warm and cozy" or "cold as hell", but this is what an investor is (or should be) all about. He is controversial, "yes", but a with very valuable and heart felt intent. This is something i fail to see in the vast majority of Silicon Investor Members' postings.
It is why I am intrigued by jack w garnes jr. and I would rather read one of his posts than 100 others. SI's correction system may have a flaw in it if a few peoples' "horror" is reguarded in the decision -but "the appreciation of many" is over-looked.
So might I register this as an expression of my appreciation for jack; and request that you add an appreciation element into the correction formula for this type of unique situation. (or for any case where you find there is reasonable appreciation) -please reconsider.
Thank you, Jill, for reading.
And You have been very kind to me in the past. I believe you will continue by giving what i have said here your usual care and good thought.
Sincerely yours David W. Lee ...(D LEE on your SI)
