With regard to different brokerages, it really depends on what your purpose in the market is. I was with Greenline for years...not as a trader...just an investor. They were fine and reasonable with regard to commissions. Execution times were anywhere between 1-5 minutes.

Now that I am trading for a living, execution time and commissions are so much more important. For this purpose only, Greenline just wasn't working for me. I want executions done in 30 seconds or less....preferably much less. Etrade's execution time is almost always within this timeframe. My only beef with them is their server has been kinda wonky the past few weeks....gone down 3 or four times for about 20 minutes or so. In those cases, there's always the phone...touchtone or real person. Their commissions are a bit better than Greenline's but still not great.

The reason I'm looking at Priority is that their commissions are substantially lower. As for their execution time (which is most important to me), I'll have to see. I've talked to them a number of times about different issues. So far, the talk is good. We'll see if "the walk" is just as good.
