I just rented my first DVD at Blockbuster. The price was the same as for new VHS tape releases -- $3.89. There were two aisles of DVD rental selections, in addition to those offered for sale. It looks to me like DVD has "arrived."

My CDs sound much, much better in the DVD player than they do in my Sony CD player. I almost feel like I'm listening to them for the first time. Maybe I should have gotten a DVD changer....
