WHEN IS THE END? -- SOROS' NOTES -- PART I
Everyone who studies prophecy must be careful to distinguish between actual signs in the Bible and conjecture. I post many news articles here which I believe are perhaps significant as they relate to the end of the age, but remember, they are conjecture on man's part. Does the Bible "specifically and directly" say that the European Union will bring forth the Antichrist? One-world government specifics or conspiracies? Biological warfare? Bar codes relating to the Mark? The Freemasons and the Illuminati? Etc. Etc. Etc. These, and many others, are constantly reviewed and elaborated on to make them "fit" into the latest predictions of the end. I have read at various times exact predictions taking up entire books of "knowledge" and "revelation" pegging the date at 1980, 1981, 1988, 1989, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and I believe there are a "few" now predicting 2000.
God did, I believe, give us some specific signs to watch for regarding the end. He specifically said there would be FOUR signs that would mark the BEGINNING of the end. He went on to say that the GENERATION that saw these FOUR signs MARK the BEGINNING would also see the END -- that is, that generation would not pass away completely until the end came.
The FOUR signs were:
1. "Nation would rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom." Many Biblical scholars have identified this phrase as a Hebrew idiom describing a conflict that begins with two nations but is then joined by other nations on one side or the other. World War I began in 1914 when a Serbian assassinated the prince of Austria. This specific Hebrew idiom was fulfilled here some 1900 years after its prediction by Jesus. This was the first and only conflict in which no military conquests were at stake -- that is, they fought for nothing but nationalistic reasons. Forty something countries became involved in the conflict. This World War spawned the number 2 sign:
2. Famines -- More than 25 million people died of starvation because of this war and the revolutions as a result of it. This War also brought about the third sign Jesus spoke of:
3. Plagues -- The flu epidemic after the War killed, once again, more than 25 million people. The fourth SIGN seems to be also tied to this War:
4. Earthquakes in various places -- I read that MULTIPLE Earthquakes were only recorded AFTER World War I. In about the 1000 years after Jesus' prediction, there were about 5 "recorded", MAJOR earthquakes -- probably were more. In the 1300's there were 157 (MAJOR); 1400's - 174; 1500's - 253; 1600's - 278; 1700's - 640; 1800's - 2119; and get this -- in the 1900's SO FAR, we are in the 900,000's range zooming toward ONE MILLION.
SO, World War I seems to be the FIRST logical, perfectly fitting fulfillment of the BEGINNING SIGN of the END. How long will the GENERATION that witnessed World War I remain alive??? If you were born in, say, 1910, you would perhaps understand or at least be aware of World War I. How old would you be now? 98 years old. I'd say we are rapidly approaching the END of that GENERATION.
