<<BTW if I seem a little more caustic than usual I apologize, don't know why. >>

You are entitled to get passionate about something you believe in, especially since you still remain civil. No complaints here.

As far as Starr's responsibility versus that of the Congress, the point I was making was that Congress still has the responsibility to investigate the matters. If they feel Starr has done an adequate job, they can accept his investigation as thorough and complete. If not, they can do their own. The responsibility is still theirs.

<<you know damn well the die hard conservatives such as on this thread will never be satisfied unless BC is kicked out>>

Absolutely true - I also know that the die hard liberals will never be satisfied unless BC is kept in. The only way both sides will be satisfied is if there is a complete, thorough and fair hearing on all issues.

<<what do you think,Star just decided to let BC of the hook on these issues after four years of digging because he likes him?>>

Starr hasn't let BC off the hook yet. IMHO (as shown on my post to Michelle) there is plenty of evidence against Bill and Hillary for Travelgate and Filegate to justify including them in the hearings. You may turn out to be right, that Starr couldn't pin those on BC, but the Watergate burglary wasn't pinned on Nixon either, but he was thought to be responsible for the actions of his subordinates. The jury is still out on the other "gates".

I have tried to keep an open mind on the issue of impeachment, and I'm still not convinced Clinton should be removed. However, I do think that the partisanship is so thick that only full and open hearings on all the "gates" will save us from years of destructive internal strife.
