Disagree -Re: from Twister " the facts are that a concerned employee of NEXT was shopping the company to anyone who would take a phone call...Next..has never made a dime."

This statement ignores the facts of the whole computer industry post Windows. There is a lot of good stuff out there (Newton 2000, Visioneer Paperport, PPC, BE, Next, etc), but without the marketing muscle & education, it's slow going.

How can a DOS based OS still control the world ? Remember when DOS was considered for "business" and Mac was a "toy?" IS managers will only chose what won the last war, that being IBM/MSFT.

And whoever won the last war has the $$$, and hence the marketing power to to fire Big Bertha (often this alone kills the competition) and coopt the idea.

As to the consumer mkt, it's really a lemmings run. Even with the simpliest OS, they'd still chose Win95 or anything from MSFT. Because that's what's in the stores. Sad but true for the 85 %.

But Mac will live on for the innovative bunch. NEXT is the Next step for a beachhead in the software developers camp, which hopefully can influence to corporate IS types.

Sincerely,
Ben
