From Raging bull:

"In July 1998, a paper was written by Dr Charles B. Benham and
Dennis L. Yakobson entitled "Optimization of Conversion of low
hydrogen containing feedstocks using Rentech's Gas-To-Liquids
(GTL) technology"

A quote from the summary follows:

"We believe that the proper implimentation of gas-to-liquids using
iron-based F-T synthesis catalyst is a proper approach to
MAXIMISE CARBON CONVERSION EFFICIENCY (my emphasis)
and reduce carbon intensity resulting in a reduction in the amount
of harmful carbon emmissions to the atmosphere".

A few days ago I read an article on how, in the past thirty years, the
environment has come under pressure from various sources
including greenhouse gas emmissions. Global warming is becoming
a serious problem. In a book called Billions and Billions, by the late
Carl Sagan, he speculates as to what can happen if ambient
temperatures rise by 1 or 2 percentage points.

Rentech's management believes that their technology can be used
in coal beneficiation processes to reduce greenhouse gas
emmissions. If they are right, this is another reason why Rentech's
is a strategically important technology.

My advice is that we all stop focussing on the minute to minute
movements in stock price. As I see it, Rentech's technology is a
fulcrum around which significant macro forces are pivoting.

This week's seminar is just another tiny milestone in the journey. "
