A common problem given the ridiculous location of the caps lock key. One way to avoid the problem is to go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Accesibility options and set "Use Toggle Keys" so that you get an audible beep when the caps lock key is struck (whether inadvertently or not). Still, if all caps is on by mistake and you want to change the text that has been typed back to lower case, (and assuming you are using Word) you can highlight the text in question, got to Format->Change Case and do it there.
