This post is pretty specific to the database side of the business. Anyone who has been in this side of the business for a while knows that Oracle is going to have a rough time. It has nothing to do with the ERP business. This guy doesn't know much about the database business either. He calls Microsofts' product Sequel Server. It may be pronounced that way, but it ain't spelled that way <g>. SQL Server 7.0 is a pretty good product. It's faster than 6.5 and has a version that runs on a Windows95/98 machine. This will help developers use it for development purposes. I agree that Oracle has a problem with MS on it's tail. The Unix guys will say that there is no contest, but they don't admit that MS is coming either.... Don't count out MS. As much as I don't like the way they do business, I won't bet against them. Oracle has got to cut prices to compete, but it's not the ERP market that suffers.
