Ish,

One of my lasting memories of high-school soccer is fields chewed to slush by energetic play in November rain. Then one day it would freeze. I lost my share of flesh to those fields. Ice hockey was always a pleasure afterwards; at least you wore pads, and fell on something smooth.

Another one is a ball soaking up its own weight in water, with its own weight in mud caked around it. Then some goalie would punt it way up in the air, and there'd be 3-4 kids on the ground fighting for the privilege of not heading it.

It's fall again. Somewhere, at least.

Steve
