Z., To respond to just a few of your comments and/or questions...

About the tech stocks: I very rarely invest in individual U.S. equities. Might take a piece of one of the indices, but otherwise....

China infrastructure: My largest China holdings since early Spring. All roadway builders. They've done well in a volatile market. Posted a couple of brief commentaries on them and the sector at SI HK late last Winter.

Economic analysis: If we are entering a deflationary period of any severity, I can't see any element of the economy being spared. So, we wait. Well,...my way of waiting is being short the U.S. market for a couple of weeks now, by what I had sitting in cash.

Appears, Z., that you have an amount of faith in what makes this U.S. economy tick. Can't say that I'd disagree w/ your power rating, yet I myself believe certain critical aspects of U.S. strength are inherent, i.e. much of the credit is due the past, not the present.

P.S. That I don't invest in them, doesn't mean I don't know them. I like Lucent also. :)

Off to look at the Nikkei.
