I do agree that cable modems are the winner near term.
Message 5909737 + the last few posts there from Leo and David.

Though I am more apt to say that DSL is more like the US Highway
sytem continually upgraded to more and more lanes with each person having his or her lane to drive on - serial connections at their finest. <g>

And yes the Interstate is good right now but what happens when
everyone and their mother and their pet dog Fido and his cat Fluffy
and his pet boa all decide to travel on the Interstate at the same
time - then we have gridlock or at least a slowdown - there's cable
modems <gg>

As this pertains to LSI - who knows? My sense is that DSL does not
need the sophistication that LSI could conceivably bring to the party-
someone like TXN or ROK or ADI would be the main players here.

As far as cable, LSI plays in the cable STB market. Whether they
want to get into fisticuffs with the likes of Broadcom et al
I do not know. They might want to play here I suspect.
