Is there any COBOL developers? Do many COBOL programs use date
function a lot that it will require 40 to 80% code modifications.
This is very hard to believe!!!

I did a lot of C, FORTRAN, ADA, PASCAL programming but really
don't think there are many places for change.

I have worked on many mission critical commercial applications.
With my experience and knowledge in computer programming, I
believe actual change won't take too much time but integration
test and deployment effort will take both time and effort.
I think $300-600 billion dollars to fix all y2k related problems
in the global market should be broken down in:
1) development (identify + change) 30%
2) test + integration 50%
3) deployment 20%

Anyone with different opionions?

By the way, I shorted at 55 1/2 today.
