Yahoo UK/Ireland Finance Monday October 5, 9:46 AM Big Losses Loom In Silicon Glen Hundreds of redundancies are feared to be looming at a US-owned computer plant in Scotland's Silicon Glen. Reports said National Semiconductors is set to announce up to 700 job losses at its plant in Greenock, near Glasgow. The company was not available for comment but the cuts would come within a week of another US firm, Viasystems, announcing up to 900 job losses through the closure of two plants in the Scottish borders.
