Clark - interested in that last remark about the Japanese being finished - one has to wonder - they seem to have had that great capacity to re-invent themselves and one should not forget many of the great Japanese corporations many of which are multi national with assets everywhere - why shouldn't Toyota fare just as well as Ford, better than GM or Crysler, - many , many other examples. Too often we confuse government fiscal and monetary problems with business survival. Unemployment is bad in Japan - but better than in Canada - living here, things don't seem too bad (yet at any rate) - I'd be interested to read some journalistic reports about how things actually ARE in Japan on a day to day level. Too much of what we hear is on the sound bite level E
