Drew -
There is no segment of the consumer business where Dell or GTW compete effectively against CPQ.

I was referring to Dell's main line of business
Dell's main line of business does not include any significant number of machines sold at retail, or machines sold into the consumer space. GTW does sell into the consumer space but they are insignificant compared to CPQ. Dell and GTW are a small fraction of CPQ's sales in this space based on either unit volume or revenue. This has got to be the strangest discussion I have had in a while. You have picked one of the segments where CPQ is the undisputed market leader with a huge percentage of sales by any measure. It also happens to be a segment where Dell has by executive direction decided not to compete and has almost no presence.

Drew - if you have a point here, can you please back it up with some data so we can get some idea of what you are talking about?

But wait - there's more...
I was referring to Dell's main line of business where Dell and Gateway consistently place #1 and #2 in desk tops while CPQ is usually in the bottom half of thew top ten based on price and performance.

Drew - let's be clear about this. As far as I know, there is no desktop segment, in any market anywhere in the world, where Dell beats CPQ in either units or revenue. If you have data that says different I would be very interested in seeing it.
