Frank, first he is working on the PCS. However,
the cellphone is GSM. The point being is the
attacks over the last year by the TDMA/GSM mullahs
level at CDMA and it's supposed smoke and mirrors are
coming to roost in their hen house. I've for some time
attempted to locate users of GSM. Those few encounter
aren't impressed (however they are people who actually
work in the industry). Europeans and others are straved
for any phone and that inflates the claims of these Mullahs.

TDMA/ GSM are basically the same technology. They
share many of the same building blocks. The variations
are slight, with GSM using a variation of FSK modulator.
Where as CDMA is an entirely different concept and
technology. It's been attacked, led by the
Swedes, as voodoo technology. All well debated and
documented over the last few years. Their chest-beating
of superiority and the such aren't adding up. They incessantly
bark about the CDMA problems of drop calls and fraudulent
claims of gains in capacity, plus late to market. Well their
hens ain't laying eggs without rot or stink.

The statement about the 10 story drop is what will
face all in digital mobile telephony: individual get aggravated
with poor voice quality and drop calls; phone then gets
dropped or thrown or slammed. I know of a company in
the Northeast who HAD digital cellphones and trade
back to pure analog. Same complaints, these were
GSM. In Houston, Primeco is inviting the public
to test their phones before purchase, but the GSM
cellphone wants you to purchase then use.

I've been consistant about this, digital in a mobile environ
isn't going to be smooth sailing, for any of these standards.
I've been involved over the years with moves from
analog to digital in fix based comm's. It wasn't smooth.
I'm tired of stones being thrown at glass houses. The
games have begun, on schedule and some instants ahead
of schedule and some behind. Three TDMA PCS markets
are behind slightly. There are holes in the Houston CDMA PCS
market. This doesn't come as any surprise to me or others
that work in communications. There will be good news
and bad news in the coming months and there will be
claims of fraud leveled by the competing technologies.
This being an investment forum, people are betting
money on these technologies. I merely am imparting some info
from the grunts in the trenches to counter balance some
of these PR machines falsehoods. Propagation is propagation,
not propaganda. No or poor path, no comm's. In the digital
world, that becomes very critical.
